A Sunday School teacher, I don’t know her name,
A wonderful teacher, who never found fame,
So faithful, so earnest, when I was a boy –
She stuck to her task though I tried to annoy.
She never was missing, in heat or in cold,
A smile on her face lighted the moment we’d meet.
She taught by example as well as by word,
This splendid good teacher who honored the Lord.
She helped my young life more than she ever knew
Later years I remembered and tried to be true.
I suppose that she is gone now to join Heaven’s ranks.
May it be my good fortune someday to say, “Thanks.”

But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. (Luke 18:16)
